About BFS Sixth Form

Bristol Free School has provided a new centre of excellence for post-16 education from September 2016. We have the newest Sixth Form in the city with a high quality curriculum offer in brand new facilities shaped by our current Year 11, including exclusive social and study spaces as well as a separate refectory. Our first cohort of Year 12 students is having the privilege of founding the Sixth Form in one of the most popular schools in Bristol.

Our Sixth Form provides a range of exciting experiences and opportunities within the curriculum and through an extensive extra-curricular programme, which ensures that all students have the opportunity to progress to university, an apprenticeship or employment.

We have developed an outstanding and wide curriculum with additional provision and courses driven by exceptional standards of subject knowledge, pastoral care and teaching learning. We offer a wide range of A Level and BTEC courses in order to provide a flexible curriculum enabling our students to achieve their ambitions. Alongside our taught curriculum will be a programme of volunteering in and outside of school, opportunities to take on leadership roles and participate in work experience placements.

We understand that Level 3 courses are incredibly demanding.  We will regularly put on events to ensure and develop a fantastic sense of community and fun and contribute to our Sixth Form Charity. This Charity is decided upon by the Sixth Form Council each year.
